Been looking around thinking about buying some Calipers to start getting my BF% weekly to add to my Log I keep daily.

For a newbie would the Digital ones be best? Are they very accurate?

I own both and can't get stable readings with either - I have a feeling that's because I suck with them smile.gif In general though, the regular calipers did seem to yield more stable results... compared to digital at least.

i also have both and i'm suspicious of the readings. as a rule of thumb i've heard it suggested that you should add another 3% to the reading. even if they are off though, it's a good way to track changes in your bodyfat.

i prefer the non-digital calipers, the most basic kind pictured in the link below (first pic). you can download excel files that will then calculate your bf for you once you provide the readings.

The pressure sensor used in the digital ones is freakishly crappy. Go with the normal calipers, practice a lot until you are able to get constant subsequent readings, and get someone to help you do weekly 9-point measurements.

Anyone know of a chain store where I might find a pair of the manual calipers. The numbers/markings are starting to wear off my current set ...
