What are the best basic/intermediate articles I could read, I'm looking for an article on how different sugars affect blood sugar levels, for instance, I'd like to know what impacts insulin levels more dextrose or lactose, the answer is most likely dex, but that's the kinda shit I want to know, other articles as well, not to difficult though, as I have a hard time with reading comprehension ph34r.gif

I don't have any articles for you to read, sorry. But here is the glycemic index of some sweeteners.

Glucose - Glycemic Index = 100
Maltose - Glycemic Index = 105
Sucrose - (Table sugar) Glycemic Index = 65
Lactose - (Milk sugar) Glycemic Index = 46
Fructose - (Fruit sugar) Glycemic Index = 23
Honey - Glycemic Index = 58

Hope that helps,

Rick

This is a definite resource EVERYONE should check out:
http://diabetes.about.com/library/mendosag...gi/ngilists.htm
And a good little readup on some basic carbohydrate info:
http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/...bohydrates.html

As for dex and lactose, pure dex is among the highest GI of all foods (suga'!). And lactose.. well, in all my reading I've never seen lactose ever being recommended as a time when you'd actually want to use it...?
