I read the thread about mixing Lipoderm Utra with Capzasin HP(an OTC arthritis rub) and nicotine for better results.

Well, I'm not into the nicotine part, but the thread said go ahead and just use the Cap. What the heck, I'l try anything once.. I've got an event to lean down for in 9 weeks.
My leaning out diet is place and I'm working out 3 times a week with a daily hour of cardio. No supplemental drugs or anything, just hard dieting and hard exercise for me.

I put the Cap on last night after a shower and oh chee mama - burn baby burn - it was a tingly sort of burning sensation, very warm - I kindof liked it. I added the Lipoderm 30 minutes after the Cap and the sensation stayed about the same. No big deal.

This morning I did 60 minutes of cardio. My stomach was on fire after 45 minutes. I went home and took these pictures. Pretty wild?! Can you say HOT! I took a shower - stomach was on fire because of the water and then used a coat of Lipoderm only.

I chose not to apply the Cap again after my shower because I had a day at the pool scheduled. I did reapply it tonight after my shower - same burning sensation. Can't wait and see what my cardio does to it tomorrow.

My abdomen measurement from Friday was a 14 and I'm at a 16% overall BF.

I'll do this as long as I can stand it - you can see from the pictures that it hurt.

holy shit girl!

how much cap did you apply? that looks like burn marks...
Jon Stark
More power to you. But I refuse to do this anymore.

A buddy of mine found me writhing on the floor holding cold soda cans against my stomach after one of my final cap applications. That's when I knew it was a little much. I'm lucky my friends and family didn't have an intervention for me.

I am curious to hear whether evodiamine works as well sans agony.
Supnut
Jon what cap product were you using? Its experiences like that that still make me wonder if I'm doing it right. I just can't get it to anything really that unpleasant

And my stomach gets much more red thean Missy's
Jodi
All the power to you Missy. biggrin.gif Good luck!

I've been wondering if any female has tried this yet. My pain threshold is not too bad but if I see another female being able to handle it I may give it a try. ph34r.gif
missy24
The redness did not last very long.
I apply just enough Cap to spread around on my lower abs. I use a cosmetic sponge.

I applied the Cap and the Lipo combo last night after my shower. No problems last night, just some warmth and some tingling but it was barely noticeable.

I woke up this morning and went to a 5:30 am spin class. Sure enough, after 30 minutes or so, I started feeling the BURN! It wasn't so bad that I had to leave class. When I got home and looked at it, it was a bit red like yesterday but it was tolerable. Tthe red and the HEAT go away as my body cools down.
I didn't shower, went back for a weights workout at 10 - no problems until I got to crunches. I could feel the burn again, but it was more of an ICYHOT warm feel, so I was OK.

I showered and reapplyed the combo.

Things seem to be fine on the skin as of now.

For me, the burn is definitely exercise induced. Psychologically, it makes me feel like it is working.! Wish, wish, wish.....

what cap product are you using if I may ask?

good luck and keep us posted...

Jodi, I ran LipoDerm with capsaicin (thighs). The pain was .... bad biggrin.gif At it's worst (applying straight after a hot shower was a mistake for me), there were a couple of occasions when I actually had to lie down on the floor with a fan playing over my legs - quite literally concentrating on my breathing to get through it.

It got better though - and I think the end justified the means, and would use it again. I wonder if this is what they mean about forgetting the pain of childbirth 'cos you love the baby laugh.gif I have no doubt you could handle it with ease!
Supnut
application is kind of a pain, you DON'T want the stuff on yours hands at all if you can help it and if you aren't going to need a fan I'd almost suggest wrapping a big bandage or something around yourself to keep it from getting spread places you don't want it.

A roll on bottle with the cap in it would probably work well.

Be careful because the cap might "travel south" if you swet or take a shower.
missy24
I'm using Capzasin HP Arthritis Pain Relief Creme with the Lipoderm Ultra.....and no problems with runoff in the shower... laugh.gif

No noticeable side effects other than the burning during my cardio session. I notice that it get red at my waistband and clothing fold.

I was at new hairdresser yesterday (stressful), with a plastic cover over my clothes and under bright lights. I must have started sweating from anxiety and the lighting. I could feel the burn under my cover but it wasn't bad.

I reapplyed at night.
No problems today.

For me, the redness seems to have subsided. If you've ever had a Brazilian wax...this is nothing...

I get measured tomorrow so we can see if Ihave any phenomenal movement of the calipers.

I made that mistake rolleyes.gif I applied before boxing one day, and so my hands were in wraps and gloves for an hour afterwards (bear in mind it's not water soluble, and so washing my hands had done nothing to remove it).

I wanted to cut my hands off it burnt so bad. I remembered Par's advice that only alcohol could help get the stuff OFF, and grabbed a bottle of vodka from the freezer and poured. And kept pouring. What a waste, and the relief was anyway only temporary.

Learn from our mistakes biggrin.gif
Jodi
I think he meant rubbing alcohol laugh.gif

Ya know... the feeling isn't too much different (at least the topical burn ) of the 'tingle' they use in tanning lotions (methylnicotinate) and spraying on a body mist with menthol in it is suppose to help, perhaps adding some to the gel or something would work.

So go get a mister bottle, throw in some water and altoids biggrin.gif and spay on after the gel as dried in.

I personally like the feeling so long as its cold outside. I think it would make me feel warm and I'd start sweating all over if I used it this time of year.
missy24
Supnut - Yeah, I'm with you - I don't mind the burn but I am one of those women who is constantly cold natured anyway.

Simple little cosmetic sponges work really well in applying both materials for me.
Supnut
sponges ehh, not sure what you're talking about but I will have to drop by the local Sally's beauty supply next time I try it and see if they have any.

I'm still thinkin roll on myself though.

You can buy it. It's the same Capsaicin product that Spook uses. It's called Absorbine. It comes in a bottle with a roll-on applicator on top.

IMO, there's a better way to add it to Lipoderm, though. Using the same product.
Supnut
I think I'd personally rather apply it seperate. I forgot Spook's was a roll on, its hard to find in stores though. I could get a roll on bottle of whatever and stick in my own hot sauce which I think is still stronger then the athritis creams.

Benzocaine is another option I suppose although I don't know what it would do if it got absorbed... I asume it must be pretty safe if you can use it in your mouth though and the oralgel stuff is the easiest way to get it.

Its a little odd how much concern there is over the possible pain but very little talk about how to reduce it. I mean there's got to be a better way then a cold six pack.

I was using Capzaisin HP ("High Potency", I think?).

Another problem I ran into (think I mentioned on another thread)... my GF at the time touched my bare midsection after an application, and then promptly touched her face around her eyes. Of course, I hadn't told her I was smearing pepper extract on my belly -- people outside Avant-land tend not to understand or tolerate behaviors such as this. Anyway, that was not good. After that I was careful to always put on a shirt to prevent accidental contact.
missy24
Boys,Boys....you can buy cheap disposable cosmetic sponges at Walmart or Kroger in the cosmetic section. Save your money, your skin and your eyes. I dab the Cap on my abs and rub it in with the sponge. I let it dry and then apply the lipo with a new sponge.

I have good measurements to share once I get back to my home computer. My abs shrunk a bit this week but I am not sure if it is due to the

application
the diet
the exercise
or any or all of the 3.

In any case I dropped to 15% BF this week from 16% last week. I will contnue with the combination this upcoming week.

The burning sensation has subsided and is bearable. I think my skin has built up a tolerance now. It gets a bit red after my cardio sessions and when I sweat. I don't have burning in the shower - I use a glycerin based body scrub and it seems to remove it very thoroughly.

I'm still applying after every shower.

These are my some of my stats for the last 4 weeks. It doesn't appear that my absa re leanng out any faster with the Cap/Lipo, does it? wink.gif

I guess I will continue for this week and see what happens. It's not hurting anymore and application has become part of the after shower routine.
missy24
bodyfat is down from 15.9% start date to 14% this week (2 weeks) .My ab mesurement is down from 14.25 to 12.5. Illiac crest is down from 12.5 to 10.
Most all of my measurements are down 2 mm, not just where I apply the Lipo and Cap.

Maybe I will see more results as I get leaner but so far, I don't think the products are doing anything other than making my tummy tingle.

I just bought some Capsicum Oleoresin Capsaicin HOT PEPPER SAUCE on eBay (this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWN:IT), because I can't get the capsaicin here in the Netherlands.

Only question is this: do I add this stuff inside the Lipo-Ultra bottle or do I apply it directly on my skin? Because the stuff sure seems strong as hell cool.gif It's a bottle with a dropper, so I don't think it's practical to apply to the skin that way?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
Supnut
I think someone in Spook's thread figured out the scoville units of the athritis creams most people are using. I'd compare that to your hot sauce as you may need to dilute the stuff with alcohol first to reach a similar concentration.

I'd actually recomend you dilute it down to something like .025% for the first few days.. do this to just a small amount of your hot sauce. Then dilute some more to a higher concentration and keep working up from there. If you can tollerate it you can possibly go higher then the rest of us have. For all we know no one has even hit the effective dose yet.
missy24
I'm still here and still using the concoction. I'm not sold it yet....but I will measure again this Friday. My diet and cardio have been perfect for 5-6 weeks now.

I'm reading other threads about Lipoburn now...

uhm, can you really tell a 1/8 of an inch difference around your waist?????

I can lose that much just by inhaling.
Supnut
If I remember right from the article it sounds to me like its going to be more effective at preventing localized fat gain then fat loss.

Behind all the fancy acronyms and such the bottom line is that it causes localized insulin resistance (in theory) right?
