I'm trying to follow the recommendations of people on here; that is eat 5 to 6 meals not 3 meals and 2 snacks; all containing good carbs and protein.
However, due to my class schedule, it will be hard on some days to do this as I have only a slight 10 minute break during which I must walk across to my next place.

I have been snacking on 2 low carb granola bars which have 110 calories and 11 grams of protein in such instances; counting this is a meal.
However, 220 calories sounds kinda light.
Considering my lack of time, what can I eat in this time period that will be fast enough to be consumed and healthy and filling enough to count as one of my meals?

If I were to skip this meal it would result in too long a time gap between meals.

Further, I'd like to know what any of you would recommned as a tuna substiute.
I have been eating a lot of tuna lately, and my face has been breaking out.
I have been told that tuna can cause acne, and I want to signifcanlty lower my intake of tuna to avoid this poroblem.
What would be a comparable, healthy, protein filled and easy to make food I could replace tuna with?
I thought about PB, but I think PB can also cause acne breakouts as well.

Buy a pack of chicken breasts on the weekend. Grill it/cook it any way you like. Put in ziploc bags...voila, ur tuna equivalent.
They also sell grilled chicken pre-packaged, but that would get expensive!

IMHO, you're splitting hairs when it comes to the exact caloric value of each meal. As long as you watch the total for the day, you should be fine.

I never heard this and question tha truth to it. If true however, I'd be curious as to why.

One of tha simplest things to do is make a shake, mrp, or bar. If you need more carbs then add something like granola. Those are my suggestions... I've never been great with this sort of thing either to tell you tha truth.

IF you are looking for a bar high in protein and carbs trioplex is not to bad. Their labels are now accurate and the chocolate coconut isn't that bad.

Or a good source of protein and calories is walnuts. Pack a little in a ziplock and bam 200 cals. Only side effect of walnuts is when you have to many the fiber makes you have it. Crapped 3 times a day. Oh how I used to love walnuts but since I think I have a food alergy to it, I quit eating it.

I got pretty sick of eating tuna myself. I found:

Crab Meat (chunk style) 1/2cup (85g)
Calories: 70 - 0 from Fat
Protein: 7gs

Sardines
Calories: 260 - 130 from Fat
Protein: 31g

If you can handle the sardines, and can accept the higher fat value, the 31gs of protein is pretty nice in such a little package. Generally eat them with Potatoe buns which has about 7gs of protein per bun.

When I was pushed for time, I used slow protein in big quantities, so it slowly digests. SkimMilk is handy, but I found that buying a pack of skimmed milk powder and mixing it in with the milk pushes up the nutrient levels. Problem is that it becomes pretty sweet.

If holding milk on you through the day is a problem (eg heat), then you can take two water bottles with you. One full and the other empty of water, with a pile of skimmed milk powder in the bottom. Mix when you are ready.

Hope this was of help,

Personally, I do the "little bags o' meat" thing - make a bunch of grilled chicken every few days. I still sometimes also use those nifty bags of tuna. Have you seen the flavored kind? Mesquite barbecue kind of kills the fishy taste.

I am also a fan of americangrassfedbeef.com's low sodium beef jerky. A pricey habit though.

I have cut down on tuna recently because of reading things about the danger from mercury contamination. Anyone know the true scoop on that?

Also, any recommendations for bars? I am basically a reformed sweet freak, so I still have hope that I will find an acceptable non-meat mini-meal that doesn't require a blender. All of the bars - and in particular those easily available at local outlets - just seem like such crap - full of chemicals, lots of sugar alcohols, etc. I was a fan of the old Pure Protein bars and was sick at heart when they went through not one but 2 reformulations, adding soy (I can't tolerate), jumping on the "multi-layered" band wagon, knocking the calories up significantly for most flavors. Plus they don't actually taste very good. I always have wondered, also, why no one seems to make a high fiber bar -for hunger control purposes if not for health reasons.

I wish Avant would do a bar - could stuff it full of all sorts of goodies, so I wouldn't have to carry around so many pills along with my meat-baggies . . . .

Make big bowls of protein salads to snack on. Every Sunday I make a bunch of shit for the week. I make huge massive bowls of egg salad, chicken salad and tuna salad. I also make about 4 dozen deviled eggs.

Some other things I make for protein snacks are high protein meatballs, extreme high protein chili, baked skinless chicken legs flavored with all different stuff, breaded chicken strips using keto bread crumbs, super meaty high protein lasagna made with high protein lasagna, keep lots of cheese around, Hood low carb milk, cottage cheese, high protein pudding, Power Butter, and so much more.

The possibilities are endless.

Actually walnuts are only about 7% protein and 70% fat. Peanuts seem to have the best macro balance I know of as far as nuts go - 25% protein, 45% fat. However I have no idea how readily the protein from peanuts is assimilated. I seem to recall a story about George Washington Carver trying to encourage this as a cheap source of protein, but something not working out about it.

unless he can find a low fat protein bar, I don't really recommend them for him. He has enough problems with GI absorption capacity without challenging it with a hefty dose of fat and glycerol.

Guys, alot of you are recommending high fat sources, but he has a disorder than reduces the rate of gastric emptying, these high fat snacks are going to do nothing but bloat him and make him feel like shit since he is so sensitiive (physically, mentally, and emotionally) to such changes

I'm not into 'protein bars' but as far as nuts go, I definitely don't view them as a primary protein source for a meal. They are simply too high in fat so they are a fat source first and foremost.
