Hi there.

I just went over to GNC and gotten some multi's and a couple of bottles of fish oil caps. Mom's been diaganosed recently as prediabetic (inheritdary i think), so, i thought the fish oil would help in lowernig coelestrol levels and stuff. Dad is also interested.

Anyways, what dosing of epa/dha is sufficient for non-lifeters? I'm thinking a mere 900mg / daily is fine (3caps) for both of my folks.

I'm personally taking 6 caps daily providing 1.8gs of EPA/DHA - currently on a PSMF, fish oil dosage recommended bu lyle.

Also, the multi i gotten was GNC's mega man. Maybe the point is moot, but i think giving some to my mom is...alright, yes? (it says mega man). I'm guessing this point is moot, but what the heck.

Thanks in advance people/

Most adults...parents dont really care to acknowledge what vitamins can do or what a decent diet can do. I would look to the basics if you parents have never been in a health related frame of mind. Thinks like Magenesium, ALA, Calcium, Multi's, and things like sesathin and Vitamin E are of great benefit to anyone who has never really used any vitamins at all. Vitamin Shoppe makes a EPH/DHA and Vit E combo ( large softgels) and Also Some rather good 3 a day mutli's that are pretty well put together ( as well as something in 3 caps or tablets). Of course you cant do it all at once. Little by little or a complex type supp is prob a good way to go. Diet is really more important IMO. Also exercise if, even walking. Im sure a lot of fellow members can speak in more detail, but i have put studies in front of my mother and proved my self time after time after she reads in the paper that this does this or that does that..and i told her 6 months prior ( ex. TRans Fats on labels, and High Gamma Vit E biggrin.gif ) Best of luck and look to educate as well as help. When it comes down to it all we can do is try to educate ppl and keep the chain going hehe.
