I don't believe so.
I do consume alot of fiber throughout the day though (usually 6+ cups of oatmeal, then of course theres veggies and flaxmeal...) along with a generous amount of protein. I generally get about 1 1/2 c of mootopia milk (which might have lactase in there, not too sure) after workout and then the same amount before bed.
I was taking acidophilus before GUT health and I had VERY bad gas. It was rather embarrasing...
Also, D sade, it appears as though for the most part its men who have these "digestive problems" (whatever they may be) as opposed to women, why is that? or am I just completely out of the loop and women have it just as bad?

Have you ever hung out with Jinx?
I have not really noticed that it is only men...perhaps women are just better at anticipating, and moving to the powder room at the correct time. Either that, or synchronizing their gaseous emissions with YOURS, thereby piggybacking and blaming you.
Very cunning, women...very cunning.

The strange thing is that I can now fart on command due to gut health. Perhaps my stomach was handing my high-protein diet just fine (I had no usual gas for any period of time), but now since taking Gut Health I find myself rather gassy throughout the day. Perhaps I now have an over-production of flora?

Today is day 5 and I noticed the increase at day 3. It could also be the "loading phase" that is causing this, so since I've now reduced to one pill a day, we'll see how the ol' GI tract is. I certainly don't want to be as gassy as Jinx.

This is to be expected as your intestinal flora shifts in composition. You should notice the gas abating very soon.

Im about 9 days into taking GUT health.....Ive had very bad stomach problems my whole adult life (possibly IBS or something of the like).....while it hasnt compleltely cured everything it has stopped the feeling of needing to have a bowel movement 20 minutes after every meal. Going to the bathroom 6-7 times a day is rather annoying.

Is there any benefit in taking two per day for an extended time given the cost? More may not be better, but to improve what normally causes me great distress would be worth spending more than $13.50 every 25 days or so.

Obviously it's impossible to quantify how many bacteria we get from diet/lifestyle, the true populations of each species already inhabiting the gut, and how many would be optimal for each person. There is research with subjects taking in (at least) 900 billion organisms (of a different species) for one year with no side effects (except improvements in their disease), where ours is 1 billion. Go for it, see what happens.

I think that you, being a bigger guy with a larger than normal food/protein intake, could absolutely get away with 2 per day. I think 3 would be something you would have to experiment with.

5 days in is when you are almost done clearing out the bad bacteria and giving the new strains a chance to finally dominate. Things settle down nicely after that. I would recommend going back on it.

i'm not in international business but i'm about to finish up my 2nd bottle of GUT health and i'm going to stay off for a month or so and report back any differences. right now I feel great in terms of intestinal health (at least I think so). I haven't had any gas really, this coming from someone who was notorious for constantly clearing out rooms. I usually eat over 3 cups of oatmeal a day on top of (not literally) eggs cooked in the microwave with cheese and ketchup and hot sauce, whey, cottage cheese, flax meal, and about 3 cups of broccoli.
I'll report back to note any changes...

Dear god, man....with a diet like that I feel bad for your neighbors up the street as well.
Looking forward to hearing your long term feedback. Warning....I skipped a week a few weeks ago and felt absolutely horrible and bloated. It took another 3 day loading period until I normalized again after restarting the GUT health, and now I make sure I never go anywhere without it.
Definitely a long term staple for me here...biased or not.

Ok, I can now attest of the same...I have been taking digestive enzymes with my major meals to avoid problems. When taking GH I have major gas problems when I take enzymes...but if I don't take them I can now say I safely eat without bloating or urgency.

I've been following the dosage recommendations, I'm on day 8 today. I have yet to notice anything remarkable...
I've been taking it normally with food and my other vitamins (NOW ADAM, E, C, fish oil, P-5-P, taurine). Any problems with this protocol? Would an empty stomach be better? Any of these other supps somehow inhibit the colonization? Would lots of spicy food present a problem? I asked my microbiology professor about nutritional support for probiotics this morning and he didn't have much to say (not surprising).
