I was doing a quick google search on raspberry ketones, and I came across an article in Wired online mag. It was written about "experts" debunking the belief that raspberry ketones have any benefit, because, as the rather intelligent sounding Dr. Ruth Kava so eloqently states:

""You can go into any supermarket or health food store and find supplements that claim you'll burn fat while sleeping or standing on your head or in the bathtub," said Dr. Ruth Kava, director of nutrition for the American Council on Science and Health. "There's always a new gimmick, but I don't think any have been shown to have much effect.""

It gets better...

"But if such a simple solution for reducing fat were available, pharmaceutical companies would have found it by now, Kava said.
"The point is, if it really had a big effect we'd know it," Kava said."

She doesn't THINK there's any shown effectiveness...but we better trust her anyway as she is a doctor. (I still have my "trust me, I'm a doctor" shirt somewhere wink.gif ) I love the argument stating that no supplements really work because if they did...they would already have been found by pharmaceutical companies. Well in that case...

What a twisted world I live in: Hucksters with bottles of snake oil to the left of me and close minded naysayers who can't see outside their own pharmaceutical box on the right.
