I recently found a bottle of lipoderm-ultra (not expired but old) that I forgot about. I gave it a good shake, and thankfully, as I always do w/ old transdermals, let the first pump squirt out into the toilet. But instead of a pump it sounded like an aerosol can, sprayed out probably 20 cc's and a but-load of air.
So thanks to high-school chemistry class, I know that some type of reaction occured in the bottle. Only questions are: what happened, and is it still safe to use?

Has it been tumbling around or anything? How old of a bottle are we talking here?

no tumbling, but I did shake it, as yr. supposed to. I got the bottle over the summer of 06. I know this happens whenever I take any transdermals on my checked luggage in a plane cuz of the pressure changes.

I've had similar experiences, stored 6 months in a drawer (ie no shaking).

My chemistry is a little too rusty to determine the source of the pressure, unfortunately, but I can speak favorably to the efficacy. I just finished a bottle that was pressurized as you describe and I didn't notice any difference between this and the (several) other runs I've done with LipoU.

Stay Puft I love yr. sig. It's too bad I don't see that in the local job listings or I'd be set. I'm gonna give the lipoderm a shot and see what's what. That rhymed, kind of.

mine wasnt as lucky.
i discovered it had leaked out 3/4 of all the liquid out onto the drawer

after cleaning it up and removinf the label i discovered 3 tiny holes at various heights. probably where the liquid poured out.
bottle is 1 1/2 years old, in a drawer, dark and cosy and didnt get moved around.
any ideas what cause these holes in the tin?
right next to it was a bottle of super absolved and that one was pretty much unaffected by anything....
