I'd like to switch my workouts to the morning, before class, but, I have a problem. I have no problem waking at 5:30, but, after my morning shake of oats and protein powder, I don't feel eating again, after I workout, let alone the next meal after my workout. I'd wake at 5:30 or so, and starting working out at 7. Have post workout shake at 8, then a real meal at 9 or so. The problem is, I feel like vomiting by the third(and even second) meal. Is there something else I can do? I know I have to eat before training, but, could I make a dextrose and protein shake as first meal, while working out, then a real meal about 30 minutes after the completion of the workout? I'm not sure if I explained the dilemma too well or not, but, if there is anyone out there that trains within an hour of waking(more or less), what's your supp/food schedule in the morning like that?

And, I think I'll be doing cardio in the morning too, and, from what I read, cardio before breakfast is bad. So, how would I go about doing that?

If I missed something, or forgot some info that may help in scheduling some kind of routine, ask. Thanks a lot fellaz.

And, how does everyone feel about cardio after training? Keeping in mind, I'm not cutting, just bulking while doing cardio(preparing for police academy, next year.)

I have a similar problem of appetite early in the day. I can't stand the thought of food. And, I haven't really figured out a solution yet, except to liquify as much of my food as possible. By liquify, I mean protein shakes as the sole source of protein, and an easy carb source, whatever you find that you can eat the most of (since you are bulking). If you are anything like me, the morning oats would cause the largest complaint. In which case, simply remove the oats, wake up 45 minutes later, and have only a protein shake before the workout. You can always fulfill your calorie goals by increasing intake later in the day when you develop a stronger appetite.

Good luck with the police academy.

Thanks Gene. So, after working out, should I eat a real meal since I just had protein shake right before it? Or, have a liquid meal after working out(which would be shake 2), then to have a real meal an hour later?

Is there any problem to taking EC with that only protein shake before working out?

Thanks guys.

EDIT: The plan for the police academy is as of now, if nothing gets in my way. I just hope that something doesn't prevent me from accomplishing my goals(as what happened with the military.)

I get up at 4:30 and am warming up by 5:15.

Usually I pop a few EC and then either take a scoop of whey (when cutting) or have a whey/dextrose shake as I warm up.

Then I have my post w/o shake and a meal 2 hours after that.

Works well for me.

I'm not really understanding what you said. ph34r.gif
Can you be a little more exact on the timing, and what taken when?
I feel dumb, haha.

I have to leave for work at 5:20 am. I drag my ass out of bed at ~3:10am and head directly to my IN-Rage/cyclo-diol/IN-Y stash. I blast that into my head while a small cup of coffe is warming in the micro. I then scoop about ~35g malto and ~35g protein in my shaker and swig about half of it with on my way to the garage for training. I then warm up while selecting my music for the morning. If I don't get distracted, by 3:30 I begin to hit my working sets and I finish up my shake by about halfway thru my workout.

Post workout (~4:40), 50g/50g shake on my way to and in the shower and shave. Throw on some clothe(5:10), cook up a carton of egg beaters and force it down my throat.

Depending on my weight/fat ratio at the time, at about 5:55, when I arive at work, I cook up about 1/2-3/4 cup of oats.

I believe that "quality" bulk eating was almost as difficult as bulk training.

Good luck Jeff smile.gif

Hey Jeff,
Another think I had to start doing when I wanted to add quality pro/cals to bulk effective was take a protein/olive oil shake before bed (actually on my nightstand). I only sleep about 6hrs if I'm lucky (you saw my schedule), so I think it may have helped keep my protein constant. I hated the idea of eating right before bed, but hey...

I also took Ginger Root with those morning glutony sessions, it seemed to aid in digestion.
