I just caught the fight awhile ago, and the card was actually pretty exciting. Evans, despite losing seems to have alot of potential.

As for the TUF final I was pretty disappointed as Manny seemed to be controlling the fight.

The Maynard fight was classic, he's a big pussy for whining so much but it was hilarious when he was attemping to argue the call with Joe Rogan as they showed the slow motion replays biggrin.gif

As for BJ Penn, the guy seems like a pompous ass, but he really beat the hell out of Jens, as evidenced by Pulver's face following the fight. I've been a fan/impressed by Penn for a long time but I was also impressed by Pulver's armbar and triangle escapes.

Overall it was a great live show, definitely better than alot of the UFC's recent ppvs

Yeah, this was actually a very good fight card. It could have been a PPV.

It really sucks that Manny lost the way he did. Diaz is only the winner by default, which is always going to cause some lingering doubt in the minds of many.

Though he lost, I was really impressed with Jens. He did way better than I thought he would. The way he escaped from the arm bar and reversed BJ was amazing. I mean, that's BJ Fucking Penn. Ultimately, though, it's extremely hard to beat an in-shape BJ Penn.

Yeah, the Maynard thing was crazy. He was definitely out. He couldn't even stand up and sit on the stool.

I enjoyed last nights fights.
Evans really seemed to test Huerta. I like Huerta. That was the 1st time I'd seen him fight.
Maynard was whining a little too much. He acted like a 5 year old getting his toys taken away from him. He was so out of it after that slam. He kept saying he was laying there waiting to pull his arm out from under Emerson. Watching the replay his arm wasn't even being laid on. Emerson had his legs up and Maynards arm was just lying there.
I agree Penn is pompous, but he can really back it up. I was actually a little sad to see Pulver lose. He seems like a good guy.

A couple of odd outcomes and some strange reactions too.

What was the deal with BJ's victory interview with Joe Rogan? Just said - go to bjpenn.com- and ran out of the ring. What's that all about?
Jens acted like a true sportsman and gentleman.
I was impressed with Manny too. Tough scrapper and classy as well.
Nate Diaz needed every other word bleeped during his interview and seemed to be talking some trash against the UFC regarding his brother. Seemed like a poor time for something like that.

That's just BJ being BJ.

Regarding Diaz. Yeah, Dana's expressions in the background were classic. His face lit up with shock when Diaz said his experience on the show sucked and he didn't recommend anyone else to do it.
Sir Savage
I like how Nate called out the UFC for treating his brother like shit.

Great card

Huerta sucked balls in that first round, if that Alaskan had any back defense he would have won that fight.

Maynard was def out, weird way to end fight

All the surprise TUF matches were a nice bonus. Poor Andy wasnt out, that was a premature stopage

Diaz would have won that fight I think, Manny looked very eager to give up his back on the show, and never could do much after his takedowns, while after the first round warm up Nate is ready to throw mad subs

Penn ran a freakin clinic on Jens, exactly how I thought it would go

Dana was kind of pissing me off, he was obviously overly happy that Diaz was declared the winner. Diaz has a personality more suited to “pro wrestling,” and Dana won’t be happy until he turns the martial arts into that. Also it is clear that Dana is prejudiced against short people, I would like to see Manny lock up a kimura on him.

I hope Manny and Diaz have a rematch, I think Manny would take him. Diaz has explosive flow with his BJJ but he has an Ethiopians build, while Manny has plenty of technical skill and can slip submissions with the quickness. Look how many times Manny passed into half guard in the first round.
Sir Savage
I think Manny has the potential to do very well at 155, but he's not going to have anything for Sherk.

He'll be a good gate keeper, though, like his cousin is at 170.
Memeticist
Agreed, Sherk’s standup is getting pretty tight and his shot kind of looks like a cannon ball hitting somebody. I don’t know if staying in Minnesota is in his best interest though, I think he would be better off with a camp that offers more diversity (Matt Serra’s maybe).

One thing I can’t wait to see is one of the shorter heavily muscled guys develop some really great leg flexibility. If you can hold someone close to your chest and still roll for a submission you have a pretty nasty weapon.
