The Science

When blood glucose gets too high, the pancreas releases insulin to act on muscle cells’ and fat cells’ insulin receptors. When insulin acts upon muscle and fat cells’ insulin receptors, a myriad of biochemistry takes place and results in the translocation of GLUT4 transporters to the muscle and fat cell surfaces. GLUT4 transporters act as a gateway for the glucose in the blood to enter the cell. Thus, by insulin attaching to insulin receptors, the cell allows entrance for glucose by utilizing the GLUT4 transporters.

GLUT4 transporters remain inside the cell until insulin and/or weight training activate them and then undergo translocation to the surface where they can then move the glucose from the blood into the cell. The most renowned example of GLUT4 translocation is the anabolic “Window of Opportunity”; this is the time after your workout when your muscles are “starving” and ready for nutrient uptake and many other biological processes are prepared for muscle building; unfortunately, GLUT4 only stays active for 60-90 minutes and then returns beneath the surface. To take advantage of the “Window of Opportunity”, weightlifters engorge a large quantity of food to make sure that the muscles take in as much glucose as possible in this crucial time. Another unfortunate factor is that fat cells also have the GLUT4 transporters and they too are allowing entrance for the glucose and this of course translates into fat gain; an unwanted feature.

USPLabs Anabolic Pump only activates muscle cells’ GLUT4 transporters. This means that only muscle cells can uptake glucose while the uptake of glucose in fat cells is inhibited; thus, with Anabolic Pump, you can easily gain muscle and lose fat.
