Thanks to Unique Nutrition I am testing the N-Acetylcarnoside eye drops, called Brite Eyes III, by Life Extension.

The drops' active ingredients include "Lubricants" Glycerin and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, and then the "inactive" ingredient includes the N-Acetyl-carnosine which is really what has shown the benefits (see the writeup: HERE)

My vision is quite bad and has gotten worse over the last couple years. While I don't have glaucoma, the last time I went to the eye doc (about a year ago, roughly), she was concerned that the pressure in one eye was showing some signs of potential glaucoma. Outside of that, I have astigmatism in one eye as well, as well as just poor vision (when uncorrected).

I currently wear soft lens Oasis contacts nearly 100% of my waking hours, which corrects my vision to 20/20. I had been prescribed special astigmatism lenses but they were quite uncomfortable so I went back to the regular wear lenses.

I started using the drops about 3 days ago, morning and night. My first "dose" was one drop per eye as I had seen some other reviewers mentioning slight stinging when they used them. I did not notice any unusual stinging or burning to speak of. So for the next dose I bumped it to two per eye and stuck with this dose ever since.

I've been using my morning dose about 20 minutes before putting my contacts in, and my evening dose right after taking my contacts out.

The effects I am told may take some time to realize, but I may be experiencing at least a bit of better moisturization of the eyes since I've used the drops.

I'll post here every few days. My plan is to run the course of samples that I have and then go to the eye doc and see if my pre-glaucoma signs are still present, or better, or worse...

Nicely summarized.

Still sticking with the same dosing protocol. It's possible that I am having less protein buildup on my contacts lately. I'm very bad about my contact lens hygiene (don't use the enzymatic cleaning, etc) and they get cloudy after a while. But they haven't seemed quite as bad lately. You could say this is completely unrelated and I'd have a hard time arguing. But, who knows...

End of day contact dryness is less noticeable as well.
