DSade was good enough to send me a bottle to try out and I've been using it the last month.

It comes with 35 pills which are the most unusual looking pills I've ever seen. They have an iridescent sesathin look to them (it has a sesamin carrier) and some of them look half melted from the liquid although they were all still very firm if a tad bit oily. The 35 count allows the user to load for 5 days at 2 pills per day and then go to 1/day for the usual 30 run per bottle.

The label claims increased immunity, nutrient uptake and reduced flatulence. As far as I can tell the immunity would just occur in the gut. In other words if you happen to be on this and eat something contaminated in a restaurant or don't cook your chicken all the way it would help but I don't think it can help with say getting the flu. This effect along with the claim of nutrient uptake is pretty hard for anyone to test. I've seen a few people claim they 'felt' like they were absorbing nutrients better but I'm strongly inclined to think thats a bunch of crap. In any event the strain of bacteria is well documented so I don't doubt the product claim, I just don't think anyone is going to feel these first two effects working.

Now my real interest in this product is two fold. First, I don't know much about probiotics per se, but getting into homebrewing has gotten me interested in all things related to yeast, bacteria, molds or fungus. Second, getting into beer, apparently due to the yeast, has left me a rather gassy person at times. Carbohydrates, especially sweet tea or soda do a number on me.

I noticed a reduction the very first day. At first I figured this was coincidence but after a few weeks went by I realized I didn't have indigestion, or gas. Almost NONE.

Now I was kind of hoping that this would be like getting a vaccination. I'd innoculate my colon with these bacteria and they'd self propagate. I don't know if they can do that or not. I can tell you that in the last few days without the pills the effects seem to be wearing off. Perhaps this is just something I've eaten or something. I'll report back when I'm sure on this.

I should note I've been eating a rather average diet but I'm inclined to think this would be a great solution to the classic side effect of a high protein BB or atkins style diet.

So in summary I found the product to be HIGHLY effective at dealing with gas and bloating and really enjoyed the difference it made.

And now if you will all follow me to my next post, the mad scientist in my cooked up something truly diabolical related to this ninja.gif ph34r.gif

Sorry I missed this...Yes, unfortunately discontinuing the product causes an eventual return to baseline...and all that is bad with modern society with respect to GI distress.

Your results are great, though...and pretty typical of what most others report.

Well I did have a second thread started but it seems to have vanished... maybe I just hit preview instead of post.

Anyway I have discovered that I do seem to be quickly returning to normal and I can't imagine buying a bottle every month for what it does.

I also wanted to note that on several mornings, sometimes on an empty stomach, sometimes after breakfast, sometimes before I took my does, sometimes after I had (as far as I can tell) heartburn which lasted for about half an hour and then faded. Never had it before. Don't know if the two are linked but I wanted to note it in case anyone else had.

Anyway I found a way to have a supply of the stuff indefinitely. I found instructions online for making yogurt in which in use a bit of Dannon yogurt to inoculate some heated milk. I just added 3 of the Gut Health pills in place of the Dannon and the next morning I had a pint of KE-99 yogurt.

I have absolutely no idea how much of the stuff I'd need to eat to equal a dose of the gut health though. Its just sitting in the fridge for the time being.

EDIT: Some quick digging led me to aboutyogurt.com which claims that labels in the grocery with the 'live active cultures' must contain at least 100 million bacteria per gram. I see no reason why homemade yogurt wouldn't be comparable to this so it would take 10 grams to roughly equal 1 dose of Gut Health. 10 grams doesn't sound like a lot at all. I'm guessing a serving of yogurt will get you a heck of a lot more than that so this should work in theory.
