It is a longstanding practice of this forum to place absolutely minimal restrictions on what people post. Only in extreme circumstances or when known trolls or spammers post do we delete posts or lock threads. Posts are moved if they are in the wrong subforum and occasionally edited to remove things like source postings but almost never otherwise.

This means that here, as in life, people will say things that will annoy/offend/bore you. Get used to it.

However, assuming you are unable to just skip over threads you don't want to see, technology may have a different answer.

There is a feature of the forum software that you may be unaware of called 'Ignore User'

If you go to 'My Controls' you will notice a tab on the left called 'Manage Ignored User List' or something close to that. Click on it and you can add any users whose posts you don't want to read.

As you read through the forum, posts from ignored users will appear but instead of actually seeing the post you will see text that says 'you have chosen to ignore this user'

You can select to unignore a user on a post-by-post basis or later remove them from your ignored user list if you decide to change your mind about that particular person.
