i still have some issues to "snatch" deep below the bar when doing a clean, i usually pull a lot higher then the amount i squat down, knees are just slightly bent which i guess pretends me from improving
how deep down should you snatch anyway - untill tight are parallel to floor - e.g. squat position?
the funny thing is, when i do hang cleans i have no problems go go fairly deep down, these seem to work much better...
where might the problem be?
First, are you trying to clean, or snatch? You've mentioned both, but they're two different movements.
The best thing I ever did for learning how to catch a clean at the rock bottom position were dead hang cleans. Go up into the fully extended position (on toes, shoulders shrugged up, ass forward) and hold that position for a second or so. Then from that position drop down as quickly as you can and catch the bar across your delts in a full front squat position.
