Einstein knew nothing of Quantum Mechanics when he made that statement, and his view of a static universe was based entirely on such ignorances. He refused to believe Quantum Theory, despite it being the MOST accurate physics model we have.
Quantum mechanics & quantum theory are different models (the later trying to incorporate the former along with gravity).
Out of interest, what have you read so far in the field Ross?
I loved the shit 4-5 years ago, haven't touched it since.

None of them are actually variables. Otherwise, what you're saying is that what 'happens' consists of the predictable & the unpredictable.
