We discussed this a few years ago and at the time I think we just had a new blurb that it was being used in Italy or somewhere.

I did some cursory digging and it looks like you destroy the fat cells from the outside and still such the fat out from the inside afterwards.

I'm curious if anything really knows a lot about this.
Specifically I wonder what would happen if you didn't suck out the fat. It can't just instantly grow back because AFAIK the actual adipocytes are destroyed. At that point it seems like it would be sort of like using lipoderm. If you cut calories you'd burn off the fat and get rid of it that way. This is different than dieting though in that you end up with less actual fat cells.

So long as it works like that (I could be very wrong) I'm curious if one could get the transducer and rig up the device in the home and if so, how safe would it be. This along with perhaps a cosmetic laser (hair removal and such) sound like the ultimate body enhancement toys.

I was always under the impression that this procedure was non-invasive. How is the fat sucked out? Via the usual method?

I would assume that if the fat cells were actually dead they would be assimilated into the bloodstream and excreted through the endocrine system.

Ultrasound lipo is for use in especially fibrous fat, like male love handles and belly fat. It still uses suction to remove the liquified fat after ultrasound.

I think the main question is, does it actually destroy the fat cells? Second big question would be does it harm other tissue? And finally, how does it work exactly?
