Is there any powders that anyone has used that mixes thin. I know the usual desire is a "thick creamy shake", but I have that already. I'm starting my diet, and I want something that could be real thin to wash down my steak/chicken breast. I used Isopure a long time ago, and that was the thinnest I ever had, but I wasn't sure if that was a good product or not. I was away for awhile, and discovered that my favorite-WPI Substance(watermelon) has been discontinued. I throw some Ergopharm and Nector together, and it's pretty thin, I like it, but just wondering if anyone else has tried any thin(but tasty) protein. Thanks.

The thinnest I have ever had would be the Isopure. However, I think special K makes a drink mix packet, kinda like the crystal lite things. But I am not sure how much or what kind of protein it is.

Why not just add extra water?

I saw something in the grocery store. I think it was Kellog's protein water or something like that. Is that what you're talking about? I thought this was too high in carbs, or too low in protein, or too expensive--something about it I didn't like, but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same stuff. I'm more interested in an actual protein drink that I could get maybe 25-30 grms and drink it along with my steak. I think I saw something yrs. ago at the Arnold Classic that Lou Ferrigno was pushing. It had "California" in the name, but I can't remember the name exactly. I think you could mix it with a spoon.

It dilutes the taste too.

Isopure, like J said. Also, not sure if it's still produced but Syntrax Nectar had fruit flavors back in the day.
Rodzilla
not a protein shake per se' but Core ABC fruit punch tastes a lot like sf kool aid, and as you know BCAA's stimulate protein synthesis to a pretty great degree
babyblu
Extend is great flavor for BCAAs

Thanks, I think I'm going to order some Isopure. I have some Nectar here, and it's not too bad. During the summer, I drink a lot of Crystal Light. I remember using Isopure one time, but then I tried Substance WPI (watermelon flavor) and never looked back. I was really bummed to learn they stopped making it. I guess I'm going back to Isopure.

Slightly off-topic...why do you eat a piece of meat + extra whey? Are they just very small cuts of meat? PSMF?

Yes, fairly small. I cut down on the fat content, and since I would drink something anyway with the food, why not make up the protein in the drink.

Roger. Lemme know if you find anything better than Isopure...as I don't know anything about their quality.

EAS protein that i picked up at walmart is very thin...mixes very easily too. Doesn't taste too great but it's like drinking water

Syntrax Nectar has some declious flavors that are very fruity and thin.
The iced tea is great.

isopure sucks in the sense that its ion-exchange and leaves that mucus like consistency in my mouth. I would prefer BCAA's.

It's been a few years since I tried Isopure, but I don't remember having this problem. Like I said, the only reason I stopped using it after one container was I tried Substance WPI/watermelon, and was hooked. Anybody else have this problem?

i used to steal isopures from my old gym all the time...they are exactly what ur looking for, but of course its expensive as hell...i think optimum's chocolate mint was relatively thin consistency tho.

My personal favorite, and this is very refreshing, thin and enjoyable, is:
1 scoop unflavored WPI from trueprotein.
4 scoops XTEND watermelon or lemon.
60 grams dextrose.
Thats my postworkout shake, I actually look foward to drinking it. You can take out the dextrose if you are NOT an ecto like myself and want less sugar.

Take a scoop of Now unflavored WPI, and mix it in a glass of crystal light. Go with one of the fruity flavors, strawberry-orange-banana, tangerine-strawberry, etc. This makes a thin and great tasting protein drink with no fat or carbs. If you want carbs, substitute orange gatorade powder for the crystal light.

is GF PRO any good for this kind of thing?

Opt is thinner than most and tastes pretty good, IMO. Been using their Chocolate, Vanilla Ice Cream, and recently tried Rocky Road. Nice!

Pick a powder that doesn't contain the typical ingredient emulsifiers:
- soy lecithin
- gums (xanthan gum, cellulose gum, guar gum, chewed gum, etc)
- Carrageenan
- etc...
