I was wondering which drug (Phentermine or Sibutramine) you guys found to have the most effect for reducing appetite?

I have never used Phentermine. I have tried some generic sibutramine in a brief cutting stack. I was impressed with its effects but they seemed to diminish a bit after about 2 months of use. Luckily, by then, my stack was pretty much over.

Is one considered better than the other? Safer, etc.

They're both pretty bad for you man.. why don't you just use a stimulant?

I really dont think Sibutramine is any worse for you than pounding ephedrine every 4-6 hours. In terms of BP increase, the eph would be far worse.
Besides, you're off topic. I'm well aware of other choices and I'm fairly well informed on all of them. I'm aware of the implications and studies on these two compounds. I have used one previously and monitored its effects on my vitals. I'm looking for peoples experience, info, or what they have generally heard from others. I dont need you to inform me of what you "think" is a safer alternative. If you want to big brother some young newbs with friendly advice on safer "choices" head over to BodyBuilding.com. It's generally fairly safe to assume a higher caliber more informed poster here. This is M&M, we're big kids...

Sorry, I just come here to avoid replies like that. I felt obligated to reacquaint him with the general tone here. If you don't have anything informative to share, keep your mouth shut. wink.gif

Yeah, with a reply like that, you definitely don't need any stimulants.

I've used both before. They have the same efficacy as far as appetite suppression but phentermine has alot more peripheral and central "amphetamine-like" side effects. Sibutramine didnt cause any amphetamine-like effects for me. Phentermine worked best as the immediate relase 37.5 mg compared to the phentermine resin (ionamin).

Did you find it difficult to sleep at night?

Which did you think was more effective?

This was one of the only sides I noticed when using Sibutramine. Upon starting I noticed some pretty bad insomnia for the first 2-3 nights. It quickly subsided though. Aside from that, a slight increase in blood pressure (very minimal in my case) was the only other side I noticed. It really did reduce appetite and cravings quite a bit for me.

I thought that phentermine (immediate relase) was more effective and it didnt affect my sleep as long as i took it first thing in the morning with breakfast.
