Seeing how the front of the shoulder gets waxed and taxed with all the chest movements and shoulder presses, why do so many people love to add front delt raises to their shoulder workouts? And to make it worse, the rear delt is a notoriously ignored area. This huge imbalance is a rotator cuff injury just waiting to happen.

People like to work the mirror muscles.

I don't do front raises OR overhead presses. The front delts are major contributor in most chest lifts, as stated.
I do upright rows, side raises, and reverse flies.

You should take out some horizontal movements and do overhead presses then. Oh, and take out upright rows as well.
OHPs are hardcore.

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently doing VERY wide (elbows > 90 deg.) behind the neck OH presses at the moment.
My front delts are not in proportion to the rest of the muscles... they are bigger. That's why I'm slacking off on directly working them.

I ceased doing front raises quite awhile back. Recently, I've reduced my shoulder work to a few sets of military press and side lateral raises. My chest strength has benefited, and the wear and tear on my shoulders has gone down significantly. My delts continue to be one of my strongest and largest body parts.

Because they like doing extra unnecessary stuff because it gives them something to do, or they read about them in flex:D TOTALLY unneeded for most lifters that overhead press or bench press.

I've stopped doing them too. My front delts have always been a dominant muscle group on my body and I am paying the price for it now trying to bring up the rest of my shoulders. I almost got injured during the winter and I am working around a pain in my right shoulder at the moment. I've changed my shoulder routine to help bring my shoulders back up, especially my side delts.

This seems to be the going rate for people who actually give a shit about symmetry and proportions. My shoulders are becoming much more well-rounded since dropping the front raises and heavy front-of-head OH presses.
