Pull throughs are a very overlooked lift in the bodybuilding community. I don't have a single lifter doing laying or sitting hamstring curls when pull-throughs and glute/ham raises are available.

This is how to do a pull-thru

This is a regular pullthrough, low pull-thrus have much more knee flexion.

I agree 100%. Westside has me doing HGR and I added in pullthroughs after looking at Marc's original suggestion of them in the IC.

GHR are absolutely killer....RDLs with chains..on a platform..now that is nice

The adjustable/low cables at my gym don't have enough weight for the pull-throughs... I can do sets of 15-20 with the stacks maxed out. Even then, it seems like I have to lean over at about 45* so I don't get pulled over at full extension.

As far as GHRs -- I've been doing them for over a year now, but I haven't seen marked improvement in my ability to perform the exercise. I assume this is because they always come after DLs or other heavy ham work.

When I run into this problem, I'll structure them towards the end of the workout and use a 6211 tempo.

good god...

Another option is to take the pin from a weight stack (pin #2) and hang a plate or two from it. Our gym has extra long pins for this purpose. It's the only way I want do 5-4-3 on our leg ext. It's Life Fitness and a total pussy machine.

I've seen that in other gyms, but at this one there's a big sign that says "Hey, don't do that."

That should be better.

Pull throughs are the best, I only started using them after seeing the LFLYOC article.

I make sure to have a real strong contraction at the top, just imagine Colin is behind you. laugh.gif

I still find them awkward. Not used to the movement. There's a point halfway through the movement where it feels like I'm in no man's land if that makes sense.
