An ad in the paper said there will be a clinical trial of a "new non-stim ADHD treatment for males". I talked shortly to them and they said they would call me back. Any pointers on what I should & shouldnt say to help my chances of getting accepted?

Anyone know what compound this might be? (they wouldnt tell me) Deprenyl?

krazyj
Well, its by Alza, they make Concerta. Should be somewhat good?

Only 'non-stim' treatment I can think of makes your dick limp so watch out smile.gif
dragula
Well, Steve was right.

They accepted me in the study if I pass the piss test.

However, the doc said he'd also give me some free EMSAM patches.
krazyj
Dude... POST UP and let us know how it goes. Definitely interested in this!
dragula
Well, after some research, turns out this stuff can cause severe prolactin issues. I declined the study as im hyperPRO as is.

Oh yeah, and "cardiac episodes"
krazyj
Where can I find more information about this? A cursory google search didnt pull up any direct info about the compound.
dragula
This info was based off of the disclosure form they gave me, not much online

I think histamine-related drugs are going to be the stimulants of the future. Take a look at Provigil.

Well, the drug companies investing millions in research and the doctors who belive this is the cutting edge ADHD treatment might disagree. Please explain to us your knowledge of the various systems involved in ADHD, and why amphetamines show a clear advantage.
krazyj
What he said.

In fact, Provigil is so much UNLIKE amphetamines that a whole new class was created to describe the drug... eugeroics. Basically, its a perfect stimulant. Amphetamines fall far from being perfect. Short half-lifes, nasty side effects, addiction, tolerance, withdrawal. Etcwhatnotandwhathaveyou.

Are they the same brilliant drug companies and cutting-edge researchers who shat out atomoxetine?

I can see placebo might go a long way for you in the course of this trial. wink.gif Don't take this the wrong way.

please. hype hype hype.

provigil is not as effective as amphetamines for ADD/ADHD.

subjectively, it makes me a nervous fuzzball and I prefer caffeine for wakefulness. for focus/expansiveness it's not even comparable to a dopaminergic.

It's great for some people! But it's not the be-all end-all stimulant, god no.
