is it ok to take about 5-10g of fish oil (~3g EPA/DHA) pre-bed?

Will it cause more fat to be burnt during sleep? or will it cause fat to be deposited?

Thanks
eclypz
I don't think it would hurt anything but I find too many anti-inflammatory kinds of things make it difficult to sleep. I don't think this would be too bad though.

Best time to take it -- been doing this for about 6 months actually.

actually forgot to ask you, what's the rationale behind this, is it related to fat burning and PPAR activation during sleep? sorry for the noob ques, tks

also do you mix it with sesamin every night too?

6 months only? being the experienced member that you are, I would have thought maybe over 15yrs+ hehe

your input is appreciated

Rationale is that it may have favorable effects on memory consolidation and exert more significant anti-stress/pro-cognitive effects when given before sleep. The effects on cardio/fat/longevity are probably going to be seen regardless of time of consumption.

I have been using flax seed oil (but not fish oil) for years pre-bed, but just switched to fish oil more recently, which is why the 6 months duration.

Do you guys take it on an empty stomach or with some food?

With a high-fat meal.

I always thought you wanted the fish oil to be stored as body fat to get the best results. Thus after your largest meal of the day or at the end of your pre-bed meal/snack.

eclypz, i have never heard about anyone having this kind of experience before, could you elaborate?

i have always had a bit of a problem sleeping, so i do not think it is the anti-inflammatory diet i have been following the past few years... tons of fish oil, turmeric, green leafy vegetables, olive oil, aloe vera juice, no refined carbs, etc.

what anti-inflammatory kinds of things are you taking and how have you narrowed sleep difficulties to your regimen?
