Does anyone know why Beta-Alanine gives you those weird tingles?

I notice good effects as far as Lactic acid threshold when I take it but even small amounts (~2g) gives me rather uncomfortable tingling for a good ten minutes. It hasn't subsided after a week of almost daily (2g) use. It seems to hit me instantly and makes it hard to even finish my homemade "sports" drink cocktail, which taste fine otherwise. GABA powder was never nearly this bad and now I hardly notice it all even up to 5g (of GABA), I actually just wash down a heaping tblsp every night w/ water.
Thanks
Thomas Gabriel
I told my buddy I would give him some beta if he rubbed the powder on his lips and he did. Said it hurt like hell hahaha.

Yeah I get that especially if I have a cup of tea beforehand. It's got to be a histamine itch I think.
