Hi guys

So my dad is in end-stage cirrhosis.. he has trouble sleeping often, and he takes Zopiclone pill once in awhile, and melatonin to help sleep. Would it be OK to give him say.. 500mg Phenibut? or perhaps I could just give him 250mg to be on the really safe side although I'm not sure if he would feel much with 250.

I cant answer your question but hopefully someone can help.

How old is your father?

imo dont do it. phenibut is not a long term solution at all..

I'd agree it seems a bad band-aid.

Avoid phenibut, have him try a few hundred mg of theanine (empty stomach) or 1mg melatonin.

If he is in end-stage cirhossis the docs should try to make him comfortable. Period. That includes whatever sleep meds he needs.

Trazodone works, remeron works, seroquel works, tamezapam works, etc. etc.

I should have mentioned.. I would only let him take Phenibut 500mg like once a week at most..

P.S I did give him theanine tonight.. like 500mg.. I heard its really good for the liver aswell..

Not to stray too far off topic but is high dosed pheni, say 3-4g, harmful? I thought I read a post saying it could be but didn't see a reason.
