Everywhere you look online there are tons of discussion about ALCAR and all the positive effects it has on the body. Having said that, I have yet to find a discussion about long term or never ending ALCAR supplementation. I am currently taking about 1gram twice a day hoping to get some of the nerve regenerative effects of ALCAR since surgery last year. Soon I'll be coming up to 6 months of nonstop use...I was wondering if anyone knows of any reasons or information that would caution against long term use of ALCAR supplementation?

thanks

You would probably want to add some alpha lipoic acid in there to synergize with ALCAR for nerve regeneration. There are many of clinical studies on the use of alpha lipoic acid in nerve repair/regeneration.

I am taking ALA also, but thanks for the tip anyway.

Have you experienced any recomp you would attribute to the long term use of ALCAR?

I dont think so. Keep in mind that for a good period of time I was relatively immobile and not doing much exercise.
