Ok, so if someone has a stomach that is overly sensitive to ...well everything eg IBS- what diet would be easiest on the digestive system ?
Feel free to list foods that are easy to digest and stuff to be avoided.
The list may very well completely violate traditional bodybuilding diets I donīt care because frankly a traditional diet with lots of veggies, meat etc just doesnīt fly with me and there is no way one can follow a "good" diet if the result is severe bloating.
Bodycomp is not an issue at this point, just getting enough calories to hold my weight without bloating.
Also, fuck elimination of a specific food. I donīt belive in it and neither does most research. 95 % of the foods that now cause problems were tolerated just fine a few years ago. I firmly belive the cause is a overly sensitive GI tract which needs a lighter load (at least for the time being). So the one common factor for foods that cause more/less problems seems to be how easy they are to digest.
My shit list
- Casein and any dairy products - takes forever to digest (good for BB bad for me) itīs not a lactose thing for me - itīs the casein.
- Meat - not as bad as Casein yet the protein seems hard to digest.
- Oatmeal - bloats me like no tomorrow.
- Whole grain pasta - worse than regular pasta - harder to digest and slower digestion due to higher fiber content.
- Whole grain bread - 9 months pregnant in 15 minutes.
Good stuff
- Most fish
- Chicken - not great but better than meat
- Whey - again not perfect but a source of protein that is less likely to cause problems compared to others
- Popcorn, no really Iīm dead serious. Yes high GI carbs but very easy on my digestive system.
Oh and pretty please
- Itīs not gluten allergy
- Itīs not wheat allergy
- Itīs not lactose intolerance

You might want to try contacting Jodi on this. I haven't seen her post in a while, but she might respond to a pm/e-mail. This would be right up her alley.

From someone with very similar problems: try rice, rice bread, rice pasta, potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken or beef cooked in a crock pot (makes it very tender), any kind of stew / hearty soup, nut butters (almond is great), lightly cooked eggs, and despite your experience with dairy and casein, try kefir. I have problems with all kinds of dairy and kefir is like medicine for my digestive system.

Thanks for the response. Brown Rice seems like a no-no for me. What kind works for you ?

I don't have any problems with brown rice, but if you do then white rice will be fine. There is literally nothing there to cause allergy or intolerance, on the downside, it has no nutrition so hopefully you are taking some good vitamins if you decide to incorporate alot of white rice into your diet.

Actually IBS in cases of diarrhea is usually related to an immune response (ie, allergy).
A possibility is that due to your genetics / microflora / food choices you have a lot of gas/bloating, and to respond to that you reflexively activate the sympathetic pathways that reduce gastrointestinal motility for reasons of avoiding farting in public or something. In which case, the constipation is a reflex you are choosing to perform as a method of coping with bacterial gas production.
Well, you could just fart more, or try to determine why you aren't properly digesting things. Probiotics, perhaps?
Simethicone and digestive enzymes will likely reduce gas/bloating. But that's symptom management at best.
